Appearance

Appearance of Activated Alumina: Activated alumina consists of white, spherical, porous granules with uniform particle size and a smooth surface. It possesses high mechanical strength and strong hygroscopicity; it does not swell or crack after absorbing water and retains its original shape. It is non-toxic, odorless, and insoluble in water and ethanol. It exhibits strong adsorption capacity for fluoride and is primarily used for fluoride removal from drinking water in areas with high fluoride levels.

Function

Activated alumina has the ability to selectively adsorb moisture from gases, water vapor, and certain liquids. After reaching adsorption saturation, it can be regenerated by heating at approximately 175–315°C to remove the water. This adsorption and regeneration process can be repeated multiple times. In addition to serving as a desiccant, it can also adsorb lubricant vapors from contaminated oxygen, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, natural gas, and other gases. It can also be used as a catalyst, catalyst support, and chromatographic carrier.

Activated alumina falls under the category of chemical-grade alumina and is primarily used as an adsorbent, water purifier, catalyst, and catalyst support. Depending on the specific application, the raw materials and preparation methods vary.

Under specific operating and regeneration conditions, this product achieves a drying depth with a dew point temperature of -70°C or lower.

Applications of Activated Alumina: This product can be used as a defluorination agent for high-fluoride drinking water (with high fluoride removal capacity), a defluorination agent for recycled alkanes in alkylbenzene production, an acid-removal and regeneration agent for transformer oil, a gas dryer in the oxygen production, textile, and electronics industries, a dryer for instrument air in automation systems, and a drying and purification agent in the fertilizer and petrochemical industries (with a dew point as low as -40°C). In the air separation industry, it achieves a dew point of -55°C in pressure swing adsorption (PSA) systems. It is a highly efficient desiccant for deep drying of trace moisture. It is particularly suitable for heatless regeneration systems.
